Merchandise Coordinator - Akron Aeros Professional Baseball Club (Akron, OH)
The Akron Aeros, one of minor league baseball’s most successful franchises, are looking to fill the position of Merchandise Coordinator for the 2010 season.
We are eager to add an energetic individual who is a full time employee supervising the daily responsibilities of the Infield Outfitters merchandise store. This position will be filled by someone who has outstanding communication skills, can handle customer service needs and has retail experience.
Duties
Oversee all aspects of running a retail clothing shop
Purchase, price, and display all merchandise
Manage all of the aspects of inventory control
Responsible for the daily closings and deposits of receipts
Responsible for daily restocking and organization of shelves
Fill and mail all internet orders
Assist Group Department with sales of tickets
Hire, train, schedule, and supervise full time interns and part time game staff
Prepare administrative and financial reports for the General Manager
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required
Previous merchandise or pertinent retail experience required
Well-organized, self-motivated, energetic and possessing the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work with all levels of staff and departments within the organization
Experience working with a computerized POS system
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Outgoing, positive personality
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Compensation /Hours
This is a seasonal position that will end on September 30th. Compensation will be determined based upon experience. Housing will be provided. This job will require traditional office hours and all game days and events with some flexibility. The store is open on Saturdays, so some non-game Saturday hours will be required.
The successful candidate will gain valuable experience that will assist them in furthering their career within the professional sports world.
