The Akron RubberDucks is seeking a highly motivated individual to run the day-to-day operations of their Food & Beverage Warehouse at Canal Park.  Candidates must have experience managing large-scale inventory and forklift certification is highly preferred.  He/She will be responsible for receiving all orders, including unloading them off the truck and distributing them to the required areas of the ballpark.  This role is also in charge of executing product transfers throughout the stadium to make sure all areas of the operation are sufficiently stocked for ballpark events.  He/She is expected to manage and organize an efficient warehouse with a strong emphasis on product rotation, safety & sanitation.

Restaurant Dining Room Manager - Akron Rubberducks (Akron, OH)

The Akron RubberDucks is seeking a highly motivated individual to manage the dining room of The Game Grill & Bar, a seasonal restaurant at Canal Park which re-opens for the 2017 season on Thursday April 6th.  Candidates must have experience leading a service staff in a fast-paced food service environment with preferably at least 2 years of restaurant experience.  He/She will be responsible for overseeing all hosts, bartenders and servers at The Game Grill & Bar and ensuring that customer service standards are upheld to present an impeccable dining experience for all guests.  This candidate would also be expected to interact with customers to solicit feedback and work directly with our culinary staff to build a cohesive team throughout the front & back of the house.

ALTOONA CURVE SEASONAL CONCESSIONS ASSISTANT/INTERNSHIP

                   

REPORTS TO:  Director of Concessions – Glenn McComas

SUMMARY:        The ideal candidate would be a hospitality or hotel, restaurant, resort management major or anyone looking to get hands on experience and learn what it takes to run concession operations for a sports team. Previous concessions or food service experience is a plus but not necessary. A willingness and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours on game days is necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:

 

·         Managing gameday staff and volunteers at various ballpark concession stands

·         Loading and unloading trucks

·         Stocking stands

·         Preparing food

·         Filtering fryers

·         General cleaning and daily stand maintenance

·         Help with production during games

  

SCHEDULE

This is a full time seasonal job with the concessions department at the Altoona Curve. Work hours vary, but all applicants should be willing to work long hours during homestands.

MONTHLY STIPEND

$1,500 per month

Assistant Groundskeeper - Binghamton Rumble Ponies (Binghamton, NY)

Description:  Assist the Head Groundskeeper by being responsible for repairing and maintaining the playing surface at NYSEG stadium. The job includes assisting with the supervision of the game day field staff, Infield skin maintenance, and water management. Other requirements such as the maintenance of the field fertility schedule and game day preparation are also included. This position will require you to work long hours, weekends, and some holidays. The candidate must show a strong passion for their work.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintenance of pitching mounds and plate, warning track and bullpen areas including turf surfaces
  • Perform daily mowing, edging, and landscaping tasks
  • Perform moisture management
  • Assist in the field fertility and pesticide programs
  • Assist in repairs, maintenance and inventory control of irrigation, materials and equipment
  • Assist in all tarp pulls
  • Help with the training and supervision of game-day employees
  • Strong communication skill to work with all departments within the organization
  • Any other tasks or responsibilities assigned

Requirements:

  • Canidate must be available to work mid-March - End of September
  • Experience working on a professional or collegiate baseball field preferred or recreational fields and or golf course experience
  • Must be able to work long hours, night, weekends, and some holidays
  • Ability to operate equipment in a safe and proper manner
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor on and off the field
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs

This is a seasonal position that works under the Head Groundskeeper in the overall up-keep and field maintenance of UPMC Park and surrounding complex grounds. Erie Events is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintenance of the playing surface
  • Maintenance of exterior landscaping of UPMC Park, Erie Insurance Arena and surrounding complex
  • Upkeep of equipment and its safe operation
  • Assist in rain delay procedures
  • Maintain player and coach relations
  • Safely perform all duties and responsibilities
  • Work with supervisor to obtain goals

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or have acquired a Bachelors or Associates Degree in Turf Management or related field
  • Previous baseball field maintenance experience preferred, but not required

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability or willingness to learn how to operate necessary equipment to complete required tasks
  • Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays throughout the season

Due to the limited size of our crew, the intern will be trained to perform all tasks associated with field care and will shoulder much of the responsibility in maintaining Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to:

o Infield skin repair, maintenance and preparation
o Repair and maintain pitchers mounds and home plate areas
o Fertilizer/ pesticide applications
o Equipment maintenance

POSITION: Stadium Operations Assistant (This is a seasonal role: March 15 though October 15, 2017.)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include, but are not limited to:
Operations:
o Assist with facility maintenance, repairs, improvements as needed
o Assist with signage installation throughout facility
o Assist with pre-season stadium preparation
o Compile daily reports of events, tasks and status of stadium
o Responsible for the daily upkeep of the exterior grounds of the facility
o Responsible for the daily upkeep of the front offices and clubhouses
o Assist with oversight of hourly stadium cleaning crew

Game-day Responsibilities:
o Assist with pre & post-game flow of both automotive and pedestrian traffic
o Oversee the cleaning crew and porters in the building to ensure stadium cleanliness
o Assist with oversight of Game Day Staff in stadium parking, ticket taking, entrance gates
o Ensure the cleanliness of the concourse, bathroom, luxury suite level and hospitality areas
o Assist with pre-game set up and break down of flags, street signs, kids area inflatable’s and approach to stadium

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00, Fisher Cats Home Games and special events as required

The Food & Beverage Internship is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Food & Beverage operation for all concessions areas and related operations. The Food & Beverage Internship is a salaried position that is not restricted to a certain number of hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities:  Concessions

    *Assist in all ordering from Food vendors

    *Responsible for receiving all food & beverage deliveries and make sure things are put away

    *Assist in coordinating the hiring process of our Concession Operation

    *Assist in coordinating, supervise, and train food staff

    *Help ensure compliance with all health, sanitation, and safety standards

    *Preparation of inventory sheets and closing of the concession operation on a nightly basis

    *Monthly inventory procedures and food cost analysis

    *Assist with purchasing and inventory control of the entire Concession Operation.

    *General cleaning, repairing, maintenance on anything concession related

Seasonal game day Grounds Crew staff help to prepare and maintain the playing surface at Arm & Hammer PARK for each game of the 2017 season.  Employees in this area must be able to lift weights of up to 50 pounds and must be able to do other manual labor tasks as needed.  Those tasks include, but may not be limited to, putting the tarp on and off the field, drag on the infield, assisting with lining the field, watering the field, and various other jobs necessary to provide the best possible playing surface for the Thunder. Candidates do not need landscaping or groundskeeping experience to apply, however such experience would be viewed as useful.  Candidates should also be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
