Photography Assistant - Bowie Baysox Baseball Club (Bowie, MD)

The Bowie Baysox Baseball Club, Class AA Minor League Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles is seeking candidates for a Photography Assistant for the 2017 baseball season.

Interested candidates should be currently enrolled in a local 2-year or 4-year college and studying photography, film or media arts.  Interested candidates must have prior experience in still and action photography and can provide samples if/when requested. 

This position will run for the duration of the 2017 Bowie Baysox season in a part-time role, geared toward home game events.  Specific schedule of games will be discussed and finalized with the candidate selected for this position.  Night and weekend work will be required based on the Baysox game event schedule.

Successful candidate will need to have the following:

  • Their own digital camera(s) for photographs
    • The Baysox will provide additional digital memory cards
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work in an individual and team capacity
  • Ability to make and keep a schedule and be on time for events

The hired candidate will be able to receive school credit for this experience provided their school allows for that and the Baysox will work with the hired candidate and their school to craft the experience toward the school's requirements.  

The hired candidate will be able to expand their personal photography portfolio with thousands of additional sports and fan related photos throughout the season and can use this experience to springboard into potential photography jobs and positions with a vast addition to your experience and portfolio. 

The Bowie Baysox will utilize photos in online photo galleries, website stories, printed publications (Game programs, fliers, brochures, etc) and the hired candidate will receive all attributable captions and bylines.

Junior Associate (Spring or Summer 2017) - Erie SeaWolves (Erie, PA)

The Erie SeaWolves, the Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, are accepting Junior Associate applications for Spring or Summer 2017. The Junior Associate program is a part-time, unpaid internship opportunity offering a learning experience in multiple areas of the business including sales, marketing, operations, administration, community affairs, and merchandise.  Junior Associates will have the opportunity to participate in monthly classroom-style training sessions (June-Aug) on topics ranging from ticket sales to the art of customer service.  All college majors are welcome. Applicants must be pursuing credit hours through their college or university.

HOURS
• Junior Associates commit to a minimum of 400 hours during the internship period.
• Exact hours to be determined.  Team's standard office hours are Monday-Friday (9a-5p).
• Special events may require weekend and evening hours.
 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate community events at various days/times including nights & weekends.
• Must be able to provide own transportation to/from ballpark and community events; mileage reimbursement may be available for community events.
• Candidates should be mature, responsible, organized, and dependable.
• Must possess strong oral and written communication skills and be comfortable speaking with fans.
• Candidates should be adaptable, versatile and tactful in dealings with the public, partners, and staff.
